Can You Help Us This Christmas?

As we move into the festive period, people in North Herts and South Cambs are facing difficult choices. Some are having to choose between heating and eating. Others are incurring debt to meet basic living costs as they are not earning enough to cover basic outgoings.

At Citizens Advice North Herts, we have seen demand for our services soar. We are here to support people when they don’t know where else to turn. There is no other local charitable organisation who provides help in this way.

This is why we are really appreciative of an initiative to match charity donations made to us this festive season. The Aviva Community Fund is looking to make a real difference by supporting charities such as ours.

Until December 31, Aviva will match any individual donation. Donate £5 and Aviva donate £5, donate £50 and Aviva donates £50, all the way up to £250. And if you are a U.K. taxpayer, Gift Aid can add another 20 percent to a donation.

All money raised will go towards our general advice service which is the first point of contact for clients.

We know times are tight, so only if you can afford it, please donate this month and get this matched funding. This will help us continue and expand our vital service at this particularly challenging time. We are seeing significant increases in clients seeking benefit advice and charitable support, and an almost overwhelming increase in those seeking support around energy.

If you are looking to make a charitable donation – perhaps you are not sending Christmas cards this year, this would be much appreciated. If you, or someone you know, feel you can manage without some or all of your fuel rebate then please consider donating to CANH via this Aviva campaign.

This is an amazing opportunity for us. I’m sure you agree that Christmas should be the best time of year, but for many of us it is looking like a scary time.
