Citizens Advice in Royston able to offer more support thanks to funds from Royston Rotary
Citizens Advice North Hertfordshire is now able to offer longer appointments for some Royston based clients on a Monday in their Royston office. The project aims to help clients with complex needs. This could be people with mental health issues, complex housing or relationship breakdowns or people who just need a bit more time than the drop in service allows for.
Lecia Fraser, Advice Service & Projects Manager said: “So far we have been seeing mainly benefit issues such as applications for Attendance Allowance or Personal Independence Payments. These forms are extremely complicated and time consuming to complete and this is not a service we can offer at our regular Royston drop-in sessions on a Monday and Wednesday morning. Being able to offer Royston clients this extra support is really useful and we are extremely grateful to the Royston Rotary for enabling us to do so.”
Citizens Advice North Hertfordshire (CANH) is an independent local charity providing free, independent, confidential, and impartial advice to everyone on the problems they face and to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. The service in Royston is based at the Town Hall and you can call in to the drop-in advice sessions every Monday and Wednesday between 9.30am and 12 noon. There is also a service at Melbourn Community Hub on the first and third Monday of each month between 9.30am and 12 noon.
